Valenc was founded by a chemical compliance veteran with over a decade of hands-on experience implementing and supporting SDS platforms. We saw the same persistent challenges across every account: manual data entry that took forever, tools that never quite fit the real workflow, and lengthy implementation timelines. So we built something different: an AI-native chemical compliance platform from the ground up.
If you've worked as a product steward at a chemical manufacturer, you know how the week tends to go. A good chunk of it disappears into inputting supplier data in by hand, wrestling with a template editor that feels a decade out of date, and waiting. Waiting on the next regulatory content release, on a consultant to free up, on an implementation that was sold as six months and is somehow still going in month eleven.
That's not a knock on the people doing the work. The tools were built before the technology to do it better really existed. They took the filing cabinet and put it on a screen, and that was about as far as the ambition went. A safety data sheet still comes together the way it always has: someone reads through a stack of documents, types what they find into fields, and trusts that the regulatory content underneath hasn't quietly gone out of date.
Our founder spent more than ten years on the other side of all this, implementing, supporting, and selling the platforms this industry runs on. The same problems showed up at almost every account. Data locked into formats you couldn't get it back out of. Regulatory updates that arrived on the vendor's timeline instead of the regulator's. Implementations heavy enough that companies stuck with software they didn't like, because switching looked more painful than staying put.
We thought the whole thing could work differently.
Valenc is a chemical compliance platform built around AI from the start, not added on later. The agents handle the parts of the job that eat up a steward's week: reading supplier documents, drafting all sixteen SDS sections in 25+ languages, checking their own work, and keeping watch on regulatory sources day and night. The one thing they don't touch is classification. When a wrong answer can carry legal consequences, you want a deterministic rules engine behind it, so the same inputs always give the same result and the rule that decided it sits right next to the answer.
The extraction side is already running as SDS Indexing, turning supplier PDFs into structured data for a customer in production today. The rest of the authoring suite is on its way.
Built into the product, not a chatbot bolted onto a twenty-year-old database. AI does the reading, drafting, and reviewing across every screen, but it never does the classifying. Published rules deserve a rules engine, and an auditor deserves an answer you can stand behind.
Every field is reachable over an open API and you can export it whenever you want. We don't charge you to get your own data out, and your formulations never go into training our models. If you ever decide to leave, you leave with everything.
Your existing SDS library is the implementation. Our extraction engine reads the documents you already have, from whatever system they live in now, and rebuilds them as structured data. No long scoping phase, and nothing to type back in by hand to get started.
Monitoring agents watch OSHA, EPA, REACH, CLP, and jurisdiction lists worldwide, around the clock. When a rule changes, the affected SDSs get flagged automatically, and updated rules ship as fast as regulators publish them, not on a quarterly cadence.
